Rotary Cares Day- January 15, 2011
Our Rotary Cares Day is patterned after the “Rotarians At Work Day” which is a world-wide community service day. Each year, clubs around the world identify a hands-on project that all members can participate in to help their local community. The day is a great way to revitalize your club, bring in new members and generate publicity for Rotary. Imagine the impact when all clubs come together and perform community service projects. Thousands of people will benefit both indirectly and directly from just our one-day efforts.
What To Do:
Pick A Project- The idea of Rotary Cares Day is to get all your members out in your local community on a visible, hands-on project. Your project may involve other community volunteers (Future Rotarians), your Interact or Rotaract Club (Future Rotarians). Involve your children! (Future Rotarians!)
Register Your Project- Fill out the Registration Form and send to Mindy Stogsdill at mastogs@yahoo.com by DECEMBER 31, 2010
Publicize Your Project- Plan a public relations campaign to let your community know when the event will occur and how they can become involved. For public relations ideas, visit the Rotarians At Work website or RI for PR ideas.
Put On Your Rotary Gear- On project day, dress all of your members and volunteers in Rotary shirts and hats. Make your team stand out by having a “uniform” look for the day. Dark blue “Rotarians at Work” shirts can be ordered from the Russell Hampton Company for your club’s project days.
Work It! Get all of your members out for your project!
