Ecuador Trip In

Welcome back to all the Rotarians and friends who traveled to Ecuador March 18-21, 2010. A very special thank you to District Trip Committee Chair Joe Vasquez, Co-chair S.P. Andrade, Wilson Benitez, Veronica Martinez, Elsa Gillham, and Tori Hettinger for their dedicated months of planning to make this trip successful.
And a SUCCESS it was, with over 100 Rotarians traveling to Ecuador to support over 10 Rotary projects, including distribution of wheelchairs, donation of a fishing boat, donation of livestock and farming equipment to help a small community become self-sufficient, building of a water sanitation system, distribution of books and backpacks, distribution of materials for teens learning about HIV and AIDS, and donation of playground equipment and hearing aids for children. These are just some of the many projects supported by Rotarians on this trip to Ecuador. Rotarians and friends certainly had many opportunities to experience their "Rotary Moment."
A warm thank you to Rotary District 4400 for their gracious hospitality and generous support of the projects hosted in their beautiful country of Ecuador.
Rotarians, mark your calendars for the 2010 District Conference from May 13-16 at the beautiful La Quinta Resort & Club in Palm Springs. You will learn more about our trip to Ecuador during the International Plenary Session. I guarantee that you will not be disappointed and will certainly be encouraged to attend next year's District 5280 international trip!
