HUMANITARIAN TRIP CO-CHAIRS' MESSAGE:

Welcome to the information page for the 2020 Rotary District 5280 humanitarian trip to Oaxaca, Mexico.
 
This year we are excited to be working with 5 Rotary clubs in District 4195. Working together with the clubs and districts we have jointly selected 17 projects. These projects will be broken down to eight Global Grants and six projects that require direct level funding. These projects will fulfill five of Rotary International’s areas of focus.
 
Registration will be on a first come, first serve basis, so please submit your registration and deposit as soon as possible to be a part of this amazing experience.

OAXACA, MEXICO: FEBRUARY 26th - MARCH 2nd

 
Our trip takes us to Oaxaca which is a city in Central Mexico that was founded in 1532. It is known for its colonial buildings as well as amazing cuisine and folk art. The hotel we will be staying at is the Quinta Real which was a 16th Century Dominican Convent, this polished colonial-style hotel is in the center of Oaxaca and is walking distance to the beautiful Santo Domingo Church, as well as the town square for shopping. This hotel has been upgraded but does not have elevators, only stairs to access the 2nd floor level, so please keep this in mind.
 
In Oaxaca and its surrounding cities we will be doing 14 of our projects. Most project sites are 45min - 2hrs from our hotel and there will be a lot of walking involved so bring some comfy shoes. The weather will be mid 80’s during the day and mid-low 50’s at night, Oaxaca time will be 3hrs ahead of Los Angeles.
 
 

OPTIONAL POST-TRIP TO HUATULCO: MARCH 2nd - MARCH 6th

 
The Post-Trip will take us to the coast in the city of Huatulco. We have three projects on the coast in the city of Puerto Escondido where we will be upgrading a school and it’s bathrooms and providing musical instruments to a community youth music program. These projects will be funded by one Global Grant and one Direct Funding.
 
Our stay in Huatulco will be along the coast surrounded by lush jungle, soaring mountains, dazzling coral reefs and golden beaches. The sapphire waters of the Pacific and Tangolunda Bay is where this slice of paradise lies - Dreams Huatulco Resort & Spa.

REGISTRATION DEADLINES: 

Registration is on a first come, first served basis. Space is limited. Please note that in order to officially join the trip, we must receive the registration form AND deposit of $750.00 per person. Without both of these items, we cannot hold your spot. If the trip is sold out, please request to be added to the waiting list. 
 
September 15, 2019: Registration forms AND deposit of $750.00 per person is due.
October 15, 2019: Balance of payment is due.

CANCELLATION POLICY:

Until October 15, 2019: Full refund
October 16-November 15, 2019: $300 penalty
November 16-November 30, 2019: $750 penalty
December 1, 2019 & after: NO REFUNDS
