Rotary International has had relatively flat growth over the past ten years.  When analyzed deeply, we find that in the U.S., Canada and Caribbean, membership has actually dropped during the past 5 years to approximately 403,000, from 424,000 in 2005.  And what's more significant is that our District 5280 has lost more net members and had the largest percentage loss of any district in the zone.

This is indeed cause for alarm.  Members are the life blood of our Rotary organization.  We depend on a vibrant membership to achieve Rotary's goals of providing community and international service.  Clubs need to actively recruit members.
