Retention begins before a member is inducted into
Rotary. That is why thinking about the process you use to identify and integrate a new member is critical. Taking the time to write it down is also worth the effort.

Why Create a Formalized Process?

Creating a formalized process accomplishes the following for your new member:

It sets  and clarifies expectations before they join.

Creates the "feeling"  that they are joining a prestigious organization,

Increases commitment to the club and

Facilitates integration of the member into club.

By documenting the process, it provides continuity from year to year, helps club members when bringing in members, and lastly professionalizes what we do.

Take a look at the following documents for ideas on what you might do to create your own process for your club. These documents were created by Kathleen Terry for the Manhattan Beach Rotary club.
