VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!
Foster The Love event brings together Rotarians, Interactors, Rotaractors, and their family and friends, District-wide, to help bring joy to children in the foster care system.
For our fourth annual event, we are scaling up once again to match the growth in volunteer numbers - which means we are able to serve more children.
Two hundred children will receive a decorated Sweet Case (duffel bag) with essential items. In addition, 20 bicycles and 40 skateboards, along with appropriate helmets will be distributed. This year we will also help young people transitioned from the foster care system by building furniture for their new apartments. Between demonstrating your artistry decorating and filling Sweet Cases with goodies, or assembling bicycles, skate boards and furniture, we have plenty for you to do.

The Challenge Foster Youth Face:
Most foster children are moved 14 times on average, and often have to carry their belongings in trash bags. By supporting our event, you can help provide a Sweet Case, filled with a blanket, teddy bear, coloring book, and hygiene kit, giving
them something of their own to carry. We’ll also assemble bicycles and skateboards to offer these kids transportation and a sense of childhood joy.
Transitional Age Youth (TAY) leaves the foster care system with nothing. We will assemble enough furniture for 20-30 apartments.
