Our Rotary District 5280 Foundation is once again funding matching awards for our graduating high school seniors.  Thanks to our own Rotarians for funding this.  The District will match up to $1,000, so students will have another boost to their education as they go forward.  This District Award is not automatic.  Clubs must complete their own award procedure first, then complete this online application* to be considered.

Future Leaders Scholarship Award CRITERIA:

  • Recipient of Club-level scholarship
  • High School senior
  • Minimum 3.5 GPA
  • Planning to attend an accredited college, university, vocational school, or community college in a full-time program with a completion or certificate
  • Demonstrates leadership potential
  • Must have financial need
  • Letter of recommendation
  • Preference is given to those active in Interact & Rotaract

Please Note: The Future Leaders Scholarship is not automatic. The District will match the club's financial award, up to a possible maximum of $1,000. Completed applications from clubs need to be submitted to the District 5280 Scholarship Awards Committee for consideration and judging. The committee will distribute awards equitably among applying clubs until the available annual funds are utilized. 

Clubs: If you submit more than one application, please rank your submitted applications. The committee wishes to be guided by the Four Way Test. 

*Application deadline is May 14, 2021. 

Clubs may request an extension, however, extension requests must also be made by May 14, 2021 and will be granted only if funds are available. Please note there are 60 clubs in District 5280, and funds are limited.

Instructions: 

Rotary Clubs Only: 

  1. First, your Rotary club will need to award scholarships to deserving students.
  2. Choose one scholarship winner for the District 5280 Future Leaders Scholarship Award and instruct him/her to complete the Future Leaders Scholarship Application.
  3. Submit the Rotary Club Application, which should be filled out by your club’s Scholarship Chair. If you choose to nominate more than one student, please rank your selections.
  4. The deadline for both the Rotary Club Application and the Student Application are due by May 14, 2021.

Student Applicants Only: 

  1. Please complete the Future Leaders Scholarship Application by May 14, 2021.
