Special Message From Governor Doug

Last Thursday my beautiful bride, Connie, was diagnosed with cancer. Yesterday, we learned it was of the lung and that it has spread. She faces a battery of tests and treatments while she fights this hideous disease. As the word of this drifted throughout the District we were genuinely overwhelmed with the outpouring of love, support and prayers. Then we were wondering why we were so overwhelmed; why would we have expected anything else from such a wonderful group of people? Please include Connie in your prayers, they are welcomed; but in doing so, please also remember others in our District who are undergoing their own struggles and health issues.

 

We have had to postpone some Club visits as I stay with Connie, at least until her treatment regimen is known and for that I apologize. Do know that I am proud to be your District Governor and will remain so with the support of all as we get through this incredibly different, yet wildly successful Rotary year. -Doug
