SOLD is a film adapted from the internationally acclaimed novel by Patricia McCormick, and tells the unforgettable story of a girl who risks everything for freedom after being trafficked from her mountain village in Nepal to a brothel in India. The film is both a call to action and a testament to the power and resilience of the human spirit. The film is partnering with many organizations including Rotarians Against Child Slavery to spread awareness of human trafficking and fundraise with the films upcoming theatrical release.  You can watch the trailer here

SOLD will have its Los Angeles premiere from April 8th - April  at the Laemmle Monica and our hopes are that this film will not only be a vessel for spreading awareness of human trafficking, but also connect audience members with organizations in their community that are working in the fight against human trafficking and with whom they can support. For this reason we would love to have the participation of your organization or Rotary Club at one of the screenings. Here are a few ways in which you can be involved:

·  Moderate or lead a discussion after the film about anti-trafficking initiatives with which you are involved
·  Distribute information, materials, and/or sign-ups
·  Purchase a discounted group of tickets for your members or local colleagues

We understand that many organizations are incredibly busy and may not have time to participate with an event, but even so we hope that you are able to help us spread the word about this important film. We are happy to draft up sample social media for your membership and community. If you are interested in participating with a specific screening and presenting, I look forward to the opportunity to discuss with you further.

For organizations that want to host their own screenings at a later date as a fundraiser, the film is partnering with a service called Tugg, which makes it easy for any person or organization to request a personalized screening in their local theater and set it up as a fundraising event. You can learn more about how to do so by visiting soldthemovie.com/screenings.

By joining forces, SOLD will be a tool for education, spreading awareness, raising funds, and ultimately growing the global movement to end trafficking.

SOLD humanizes the issue of child trafficking. By pulling us into the world of one child who is trafficked, the film provides insight into the horrors children experience but also illustrates the resilience they have to overcome such horrible situations.
