Our District's 120 Rotarians who traveled to Colombia March 19-23, 2014 are still unpacking and reflecting upon the many Rotary Moments that took place in Medellin, Colombia. Here's a glimpse at the Alejandrio Project. A 3-hour bus ride from Medellin, Alejandrio is a rural village with a population in need. After a spirited welcome by children and adults alike, our Rotarians and Rotaractors distributed backpacks, school supplies, clothing and more to the children. Rotarians then visited the local hospital, which was the site of one of our grants. In the top photo, District 5280 stands outside Alejandrio Hospital. In the lower left photo, Santa Monica Rotarian Judy Neveau meets one of the local children. In the lower center photo, Executive Aide Jaimee Cantrell and Hollywood Rotarian Melody St. John are greeted by the children. In the lower right photo, Westchester Rotarian Edgar Saenz hands a backpack to a child. Stay tuned for more updates and photos.
