Senior Assistant Governor for Membership Dean Reuter wants you to look around the room at your next club meeting and ask yourself, "Are we missing some Rotarian friends?" Dean is adament. "Almost every English speaking country had a net membership loss. Yet across the board, Rotary International has maintained their "magic" 1.2 million Rotarians. How? The non-English speaking countries did not accept the "tough economy" excuse without a fight. The economy has been blamed for way too many of our losses and we have surrendered without a fight! Work with your Rotarians! Is there an option? Dean has done the math. "If you run the numbers, the Mandatory R.I. cost per year is approximately $425. If the club can manage the other costs, we can and could have saved a lot of losses." So if you want to hear the sound of the trumpet, schedule Dean for a Membership Presentation at your club.
