Immediately following the devastating tornadoes across the South, Governor Doug asked me to contact Rotary District Governors in the affected areas to see where the greatest need was and how we could help our fellow Rotarians.  One of the hardest hit areas has been Northern Alabama represented by Rotary District 6860.  We have been communicating with DG John Valieant and his Disaster Relief Coordinator PDG J.G. Brazil who tell us that individual Clubs, along with State and Federal agencies are responding to the immediate recovery needs. Where they are looking for help is with the long term recovery and rebuilding that will take months and in many cases years.

 

To support the long term disaster relief efforts, they have established the Alabama Tornado Disaster Donor Advised Fund (DAF) within The Rotary Foundation by District 6860.
