I've been asked to give an overview, here at the Leadership Conference, of what The Rotary Foundation seeks to accomplish.
 

First, let me thank everyone in this room for what you did in Gov. David Moyer's year that made us #1 in Zone 24, the United States, and in the world.  Through June 30 our District contributed a total of $1,576,062.49 towards annual giving, which is $684.65 per capita.

                                  

Total giving for the year just concluded from the District, which includes the Permanent Fund and Restricted giving, is a whopping $1,813,569.  Just think of the humanitarian projects and good that can be achieved because of the generosity of Rotarians in our district.

Governor Chuck Anderson's goal in the 2008-09 Rotary year for Annual Giving is $575,000 or $250 per member.  This will go towards:

a.  Ambassadorial Scholarships
b.  Group Study Exchange in Korea
c.  Youth Exchange
d.  Matching Grants
e.  District Simplified Grants

I want to encourage everyone to give what they can.  We know not everyone can give a million dollars.  All it takes is the small amounts from everyone - $10, $15, $25, $100 -- whatever you are able to give and whatever your heart dictates.
