youth exchange

Rotary Youth Exchange (RYE) provides 15 to 18 year olds the opportunity to discover another culture by spending time overseas.  In the long term exchange program, the students live for a full year in another country hosted by Rotarians.  They experience a new culture, learn a new language and make lifelong friends.  The short term program gives students the opportunity to spend 3 months during the summer overseas.  RYE is a life changing experience for the students and their hosts!

Contact James Jackman (Redondo Beach) on how your Club can be involved with RYE. Student applications are available now for the 2019-2020 school year.

Short-Term Youth Exchange

Spend three weeks abroad and expand your world!  Interested youth ages 15 – 18 are encouraged to apply to the District 5280 Short Term Youth Exchange.   This program offers high school students the chance to participate in a family-to-family exchange for several weeks during the summer of 2019.

Students may be able to tailor the exchange to match interests or include specific places or regions.  Each student will be hosted by a local Rotary club and a host family approved by Rotary.

For further information, contact Katie Butler Litsey (katie.marie.butler@gmail.com).
Pre-applications are due Jan. 1, 2019.
