2015 Guatemala Humanitarian Trip

THE 2015 GUATEMALA HUMANITARIAN TRIP IS NOW SOLD OUT!

If you would like to be placed on the waiting list, please contact Tori Hettinger at the District Office at 310-670-9792 or at office@rotary5280.org

The indigenous people living outside Guatemala's major cities are the most wonderful people you can meet but also the poorest in our hemisphere. The population is expanding faster than the general services they require for education, health and general infrastructure, such as clean water.

The Rotary Clubs of District 5280, along with the Rotary Clubs of Guatemala have collaborated on six Global Grant projects to help the Guatemalans living in the countryside. The humanitarian trip attendees will experience first-hand the wonderful achievements from our generous donations.

Trip headquarters will be in the former colonial capital of Central America, Antigua. Antigua is protected as a UNESCO city heritage site.

Accommodations:
Accommodations are at the Hotel Casa Santo Domingo, ranked by travel magazines as one of the top 100 hotels in the world. Day bus trips will be provided to visit the Rotary projects our District and Guatemala Rotary are sponsoring. The projects are mostly outside Antigua, traveling into the lush countryside, known as the land of the eternal spring and for its indigenous culture.

Payment Details:
The basic trip is $1600/person with airfare. Also offered is a one-day optional trip to Tikal (additional cost) and a Post-Trip to Isla de Roatan, Honduras Feb. 9-13, 2015 (additional cost).
